Level I Training Series

Building Operator Certification (BOC) training includes nearly 74 hours of classroom and project work (7.4 CEUs) in building systems operation and maintenance. Each course in the series is completed in a one day training session, except BOC 1001 Energy Efficient Operation of Building HVAC Systems, which is a two day course. To earn a certificate of completion, participants must pass an exam at the end of each training day and complete five assigned projects. Unless otherwise noted, training begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends by 4:00 p.m. Early registration is encouraged.

This new BOC offering is for facilities personnel of large multifamily buildings.

Tuition Information

$895

The tuition is reduced from $1,695 to $895 thanks to special funding from Wisconsin Focus on Energy. Focus on Energy is also providing a $500 bonus incentive on the first capitol project completed by the facility after the participant has completed the BOC multifamily training series.

Cancellation Policy and Refund Information

No refunds will be provided for registrations canceled less than three business days before the start of the first course in a training series. However, employers may substitute another employee if the original registrant is unable to participate in the training series. 

If a training participant is unable to attend a course in a training series for which he or she is registered, he or she may make up that course at no additional cost or penalty by attending it when it is offered during another training series.

As of January 1, 2017, BOC is aligned with ISO 17024 and requires graduates to pass a third-party administered exam to earn the Certified Building Operator credential. Tuition: $1,695. The registration fee of $1,695. covers all class materials, books, continental breakfast, lunch, and a certificate upon completion of the training series. Companies looking to send more than one employee to the same training may qualify for a group discount, contact Molly Graham mgraham@mwalliance.org (link is external) for more information.

$500 tuition reimbursements will be available from Focus on Energy to students who complete the training once a qualifying energy saving project has been approved.
